Melvin L. Rambo, Appleton, WI, was elected as President and Chief Executive Officer of Equitable Reserve Association at the fraternal benefit societys 32nd General Assembly Convention held June 14-16, 2006, at the Stone Harbor Resort in Door County, WI. Before joining Equitable Reserve in May of 2005 as the Vice President Administration, Rambo was the former President and COO of National Travelers Life Company, West Des Moines, Iowa. In 2004 and through April of 2005, Mr. Rambo had been pursuing his MBA at Drake University in Des Moines and working as a consulting actuary for such clients as Wells Fargo, a diversified financial services company.
Former Equitable Reserve Association President Robert E. Miller, Neenah, WI, had announced his intention to retire to the General Assembly Meeting. He had served as President since 1994. Equitable Reserve Association is indebted to Bob Miller for his accomplishments throughout his twelve year tenure as president, said newly-elected President Mel Rambo. Bob is a gentleman in the true sense of the word and leaves a legacy of uncompromising integrity and of always doing the right thing for our members. His unwavering commitment has helped to create a forward-looking financial services organization with compassion and heart.
It has been an honor to serve as President of Equitable Reserve, said Miller. My service ends with genuine admiration for all our members, agents and staff. I am impressed by the care and concern our agents and members demonstrate in their daily interaction with other human beings. In 2005 alone, members held 482 fraternal and community events, and contributed 49,052 volunteer hours. Thanks are due to my fellow officers, our directors and our employees. They are all good stewards of member assets and share concern for the individual members well being. The organization will be in good hands with your newly-elected President, Mel Rambo.
