Fraternal Scholarship

Traditional Student Scholarship
Many graduates have the talent to pursue further education after high school, but lack the finances to make it achievable. Equitable Reserve Association helps ease that burden for its members. Each year, up to $15,000 is offered in the form of $500 scholarships to any accredited technical school and $1,000 scholarships to any accredited college or university.

To be eligible, the graduating high school senior* must be an Association member in good standing with a policy in force in his or her name for at least three years prior to the date of graduation. Family plan coverage or riders do not qualify.

Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis. Selection criteria will include, but not be limited to:

  • Scholastic achievement
  • Financial need
  • Career goals
  • Extracurricular activities
  • Community service
  • Written essay

Applicants for the $1,000 scholarship must have a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants for the $500 scholarship must have a GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Scholarship winners will be determined by an independent Scholarship Selection Committee and notified by April 30. No officer or member of Equitable Reserve Association will serve on this committee.
