Equitable Reserve Association

For persons who experience medical emergencies, a medic alert identification bracelet or necklace can immediately warn emergency medical personnel to the wearer's existing medical conditions. As a fraternal benefit for its members in good standing, Equitable Reserve will reimburse your initial membership fee in the Medic Alert Foundation, the internationally recognized medical identification system.

Medic Alert Foundation International aims to educate and encourage individuals to wear on their person identification of any medical problem should they have (or experience) a medical emergency.

Who is eligible?
All members can participate free of charge.

How does the System work?
The person who has an unusual health condition can display the Medic Alert emblem on a small bracelet or necklace. A description of the individual's medical problem is engraved on one side of the emblem. Each emblem is registered, and this registration number is also engraved on the same side as the emblem, along with the telephone number of the central file.

Medic Alert Foundation International maintains a central file and accepts collect calls on a 24-hour basis from anywhere in the world. This is done to relay information pertaining to the wearer to an inquiring physician.

The Staff of Aesculapius, the symbol of the medical profession, and the words "Medic Alert" are engraved in red on the face of the emblem.

Is the emblem effective?
The Medic Alert Foundation carries on a continuous educational program for professional people in order to make the significance and availability of the emblem, as well as its life-saving services, well-known.

Medical personnel, policemen, and firemen are asked to look about the neck or wrist of individuals with unexplained illnesses or accidents for the Medic Alert emblem.

Each emblem is made of durable stainless steel. Its engraving cannot be obscured.
