Orphan Benefit |
|
This benefit is provided for fully orphaned children whose parents were, at the time of their death, members of the Equitable Reserve Association in good standing for over one year. Following the approval of an application, Equitable Reserve Association will pay the duly qualified guardian of such orphan a monthly allowance for care, maintenance, and education. The Orphan Benefit provides additional security for both natural born children and legally adopted children. This benefit also applies to children of parents having full custody, and full financial responsibility for said children, and at least one of the parents must be the natural parent of the children. Following the approval of an application for the Orphan Benefit by the Executive Committee, Equitable Reserve Association will pay the duly qualified guardian of such orphan a monthly allowance for care, maintenance, and education retroactive to the date of application for the benefit as follows:
The Orphan Benefit shall cease to be payable when the orphan marries, becomes self-supporting, or graduates from High School. The approval of an Orphan College Scholarship will terminate benefits under this section. |
